We all want to feel beautiful, relaxed, comfortable, and welcome. The sugarista and skin care specialists at Dulcederm make this their highest priority. Tamara and Trisha both have a way of making you feel like you could sit down and join them with their morning tea. I found the space to be so inviting and calming during my visit.
Their work motto happens to be “fall in love with every part of yourself” and they help every customer achieve this. When asked what she loves most about what she does, Tamara’s response was, “ being able to provide everyone a safe place to be themselves”. I think that’s a perfect description of how it feels to visit Dulcederm.
What makes Dulcederm unique - for me it was the word sugaring. I’ve only attributed sugaring to doughnuts until I met Tamara. Sugaring isn’t new. It’s an ancient art of hair removal that dates from the time of the Persians. The best part - compared to traditional waxing it’s better for the environment and clients who have tried it report less discomfort! Sign me up!
Tamara had a boutique spa in downtown Portland prior to opening Dulcederm. Beaverton provided opportunities that she didn’t previously have. Beaverton, especially downtown Beaverton has great growth potential since Dulcederm is the first sugaring and day spa on the west side. It also offered her a larger physical space.
Tamara was recently able to hire Dulcederm’s first employee and continues to see the growth that they are both bringing to the business. The best part is, together they support every single person loving themselves as they are with no judgement.
Getting to spend some time with Tamara and Trisha was a highlight of the week.
I even got a couple nuggets of advice that I wanted to share:
“Wear your sunscreen!” - Tamara
“Be unapologetically you.” - Trisha
Tamara’s favorite thing about downtown and Central Beaverton is its sense of community. Take a walk with Tamara one day - you will feel it too!
